The roundtable was chaired by The GO! Network and sought to establish "How a website should be more than just a shopfront for your business and shared information about the common challenges that lead to overlooked opportunities and how to make the most of your website."
The size of the websites they talked about was mid to enterprise level. These websites need a lot of components to run, and companies often make mistakes that cost them a lot of time and money.
It was an interesting talk, and if I were to summarise it, I would say:
- The next game changer is headless technology, which has already started to make a difference.
- Platform choice and integration challenges are at the heart of a sound tech strategy. There are a lot of platforms to choose from; consider all options before making your platform selection.
- You need to get your planning right to avoid ending up with a site that does not give you all the necessary functions or is over specified. Both mean you've wasted time and money, which will be very frustrating.
You've got to plan your content strategy and have the right tools to use it efficiently.
Choosing an agency with the right experience and expertise is crucial, and you won't be surprised to hear me say, talk to Quba about your project.
